The Lahaina Civic Center is a sports, convention and entertainment complex located at Kaaahi St & Honoapiilani Hwy in Lahaina, Hawaii, on the island of Maui. It is the site of the annual Maui Invitational Tournament, held every November during Thanksgiving week and hosted by Chaminade University. Other events held at the Civic Center throughout the year include the World Youth Basketball Tournament in July, numerous concerts, trade shows, community festivals and fairs.
The main building consists of the following:
There isn't any loading zone at the meeting room level as this has been removed and replaced with handicapped parking.
There is a war memorial in the breezeway which is hard to find in the daytime when there is no lighting.
Division of Motor Vehicles used to be in this building.
There is a nice Jacaranda tree on the corner by the Police Department and some nice palm trees.
The 2,000-seat amphitheater is an open-air auditorium with a 2,176-square-foot (68'-by-32') stage, tiered lawn seating, dressing rooms, and limited sound and lighting systems. The lawn measures 48,360 square feet (4,493 m2).
In addition the Civic Center features five tennis courts, with overhead lighting and water fountains. There is parking for 900 cars.
