The Buccoo Reef system is dubbed one of the most beautiful places in the Caribbean. It is approximately 7 km2 in area and consists of an arc of five reef flats that enclose a shallow reef lagoon and the Bon Accord Lagoon. This magnificent, if somewhat endangered, labyrinth of coral comprises 40 differing and often multi-colored species and covers more than twelve square meters of the Caribbean seabed between Pigeon Point and Buccoo Bay. It is the natural feeding ground for a whole variety of brilliantly colored tropical fish including a trigger, butterfly, surgeon, and parrot.
